LULAC Galveston Council wins historic state awards, heads to nationals

The League of United Latin American Citizens Galveston Council 151 made state history as the first in one year to receive three of the organization’s top awards — Woman of the Year, Man of the Year and Council of the Year — in Texas.

The council qualifies to compete for each category at the national level on June 29.

Robert Quintero, council president, and Vicky Gomez, vice president, won Man and Woman of the Year and earned the Council of the Year award May 25.
